Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal part in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrel of the British 25-pounder field gun, specifically the late Mk.II form fitted with a muzzle brake. This is a detail accessory for a plastic model of the gun or of its self-propelled carrier, not a kit.
The 25-pounder gun was the main British field weapon of the Second World War and it served long after it. It combined the qualities of a gun and a howitzer, fired from a circular turntable and was used by Commonwealth units all over the world. The original barrel had no muzzle brake; it was added later for firing more powerful armor-piercing ammunition, with which the recoil grew. The presence or absence of a brake is therefore a clear guide to dating and to the right variant of a build.
Cut off the plastic barrel as close to the mantlet as possible and level the cut, so that the turned part seats squarely. Degrease the metal with alcohol before gluing and roughen it lightly; glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Lay a primer suitable for metals onto the metal, or the paint will hold poorly. The muzzle of the barrel is drilled, so it pays to pick it out only gently with a dark wash after spraying.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
