The credibility of a diorama is decided by the vegetation as much as by the figures and the vehicles. Tropical plants have large, strikingly shaped and deeply cut leaves, so even a few pieces will turn a bare base into a jungle scene and give it scale. In 1:35 scale a two-centimeter leaf on the model matches a leaf seventy centimeters long in reality, which is usual on tropical plants.
It is a set of individual leaves of a tropical plant in 1:35 scale, that is a scenic accessory, not a finished scene. How many leaves the set carries, what they are made of and which glue the manufacturer recommends for them is stated in the enclosed instructions.
Color the leaves before fitting them, while they can still be handled freely. Greenery in nature is not uniform: the underside of a leaf tends to be lighter than the upper side, the veining darker, and the edges of older leaves dry to yellow and brown. Apply the paint in thinned layers, so that the texture of the surface stays visible. When fitting them, work from the bottom upward, turn the leaves slightly and let them overhang the edges of the scene, so that the composition does not look flat.
A set of leaves is supplied. A base, figures, vehicles, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
