This is not a kit but an accessory for painting. On the road wheels of the M48 tank in 1:35 scale the set separates the rubber tire band from the rim and replaces lining by hand. The cut matches the wheels of the Revell kit — with wheel masks the shape is tied to a particular molding, so check before ordering which kit you are building.
The M48 is among the types with genuinely large road wheels: there are six on each side, they have a pronounced diameter and a wide rubber tire band with a conspicuous hub cap in the middle. A row of return rollers runs above the wheels, the drive sprocket is at the rear and at the front is an idler wheel which on this type has a diameter similar to the road wheels — which is a trap, because reaching for the same mask on it as on a road wheel need not work out, as the shape of the rim is different. The difference between the versions named in the title concerns mainly equipment and modernizations, not the running gear, which is why one set covers them. A wide tire band means the dark ring is a large area on the side of the vehicle and the edge to the rim is long — and a longer edge forgives less.
A ring-shaped decal does not work on wheels: the carrier film lies on the surface, breaks over the hub cap and its sheen differs from sprayed paint. Hand-cut tape, in turn, visibly follows a polygon rather than a circle at a large diameter, and paint gets under it at the overlap. A mask with a ready-made shape gives an identical edge on all twelve wheels and the surface stays sprayed throughout. Paint and mask the wheels separately, while you can still hold them by the axle.
