A plastic kit of the Japanese Nissan Cedric and Gloria sedan of the Y32 generation in the V30 Twincam Turbo Gran Turismo Ultima version of 1992.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cedric and Gloria were two commercial faces of the same large Nissan sedan, which were sold in Japan through different dealer networks and differed mainly in the treatment of the front and the rear. The Y32 generation of the first half of the 1990s is among the cars on which the Japanese taste of the time is clearly visible: a smooth but still boxy body and a roomy, richly equipped interior. The Gran Turismo Ultima version stood at the top of the more sporting part of the range, and the designation V30 Twincam Turbo refers to a turbocharged engine with twin camshafts in the head.
The model is based on the 1992 version. The plastic parts are carried on frets and are supplied unassembled and unpainted. The long smooth body of the sedan is a rewarding subject for careful paintwork and for work with the glazing: a clean separation of the windows and the trim strips does more on a finished model than the best detail hidden under the hood.
Separate the parts with nippers a little away from the part and sand down the remains of the gates. Wash and degrease the body before painting, as paint will not bond with the primer on a greasy surface. Spray in thin layers and watch the evenness of the coat over large areas. Glue the clear parts with a cement that will not fog them, and apply as little of it as possible. Use a gloss coat under the decals and even the degree of gloss out only with the final clear coat.
For modelers who enjoy Japanese automobile production of the 1990s, and for collectors of civilian cars for the display case. Paints, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
