Bathroom tiling is a small pattern with a very regular pitch, and that is exactly why it is badly drawn by hand in a small scale: any deviation shows at first glance. A ready-made base takes that work away. Old tiling also gives a scene its age. Where a piece of tile has come away and where the grout has gone gray, the viewer reads the story of the house and nobody has to explain it.

First lay the base out dry and check that the rows of tiles will be parallel with the edge of the wall or the base; with a regular pattern even a small twist is noticeable. Cut with a sharp blade against a ruler and rather with a small margin. The tiling does not have to be laid whole: a missing piece, a crack or exposed backing in the wall will bring a scene to life more than a perfect surface. Darken the grout lines and leave a few tiles different, so that the pattern does not look like a print. Try a suitable paint and glue aside on an offcut, because it depends on the material of the base, and glue it onto a flat, degreased surface with pressure.
The accessory suits builders of interior dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale who are building a residential or a damaged house and need a regular tiling without laborious drawing.
A base, figures, a model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
