The idler wheel sits at the rear of a tracked vehicle, guides the track and adjusts its tension through a pivoting arm. On the Panther Ausf. G of late production the wheel had a diameter of 665 mm and casting numbers were visible on the disks, that is marks from the production of the real part. These are precisely the places that are best visible on a model seen from behind.
The set contains idler wheels of the late type with arms and with the casting numbers rendered in relief, in an extent for one vehicle. It is prepared for kits of the Dragon brand, so with other kits it is necessary to count on adjusting the mounting. A sister item from the same brand is prepared for Takom kits, so it pays to check the part number before buying.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away carefully, so that the outline of the disk and the relief of the numbers are preserved. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and apply a base color. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and go by the manufacturer's instructions. While fitting, watch that both wheels are in the same position and at the same height above the ground, otherwise the sag of the track will be different on each side. Seat the arm only after dry-fitting the track, so that you have the chance to fine-tune the position.
The set suits modelers who are finishing the running gear of late Panthers in detail, as well as those who need to replace a damaged part from the kit. The kit, tracks, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
