Use in a scene

The board can be backed with thin card or veneer, so that it has mass and casts a shadow; flat baked goods, on the other hand, look good left as paper. Tips for gluing and weathering

• Cut with a sharp scalpel along a rule; a blunt blade tears the paper and the edge then goes white.
• Rub the white cut over with a soft pencil or a dark paint, otherwise it stands out on the finished scene.
• Glue with PVA glue applied in a thin layer, so that the paper does not harden and curl.
• You age it with a light wash, mild soiling with pigment and a lightly crumpled surface.
• Finally spray it with matte clear coat, which levels the sheen of the paper with the surroundings of the diorama.
