Plastic Crates set B in 1:35 scale from Matho Models — a further variant of miniature crates for stores, shops and the loads of vehicles in dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic Crates B from Matho Models is the second variant of miniature plastic crates in 1:35 scale. These are diorama props, not a kit of equipment. Compared with set A it brings crates of a different form, so both sets can be combined with no visible repetition; real stores never have only one type of crate either.
Props of this type will settle a supply yard, the ramp of a supermarket, a market hall and the bed of a van or a truck. In modern military scenes they will serve by a field kitchen, in the store of a base or during humanitarian distribution. They look best in groups: a column of crates, a few pieces scattered beside it, one tipped over, and the corner suddenly lives. Combine them with cardboard boxes, pallets and drums.
Go for rich plastic colors and alternate them within the heap, as a single-color pile looks artificial. A satin matte varnish faithfully imitates plastic, and a diluted dark wash will pick the ribbing and the handles out. For used pieces add small scuffs in a lighter tone and dust at the bottom; plastic crates need no more dirt than that. Wash the parts before painting and give them a base coat.
A diorama accessory; the base models, figures, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
