A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Toro Model. It is a stand-alone figure meant for a diorama or a display base, not a kit of a piece of equipment. The casting is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and a base are not included in the box.
The subject is an officer of the I Brigade of the Polish Legions in 1914, that is, in the first year of the First World War. The officer's field uniform of the day was sober: a tunic with breast pockets, riding breeches, high boots, leather straps and a soft cap. It is precisely the combination of cloth and leather that makes the figure a rewarding thing to paint, and a scene from 1914 is still less usual in 1:35 scale than subjects from the Second World War.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and small gaps can be filled with filler. After the primer, paint the cloth with acrylics in two shades so that the folds stand out, and the leather parts separately in darker tones with a gentle sheen. Finish the face in several thin layers and fine-tune the shading with oil paints. Only hint at the metal details with a dry brush, so that they do not look unnatural.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
