Seven resin castings of concrete pyramids, the continuation of the obstacle series under the designation Set II. An accessory for building a defensive line in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A continuous line of anti-tank pyramids was built in several rows one behind another so that a crew could not find a way through. The set follows that logic: it carries the designation Set II and holds seven resin castings, so it can continue an already built stretch or make up a deeper field on its own.
Mold release agent stays on the surface of castings in polyurethane resin, that is the agent the mold is treated with so that the casting will release from it. You cannot see it with the naked eye, but paint holds badly on it: once dry it can be scraped off with a fingernail and it wrinkles in the corners. It is removed with lukewarm water, a drop of dish soap and an old soft brush; then the parts are rinsed in clean water and left to dry on a paper towel. On degreased castings the primer then sits in a thin coat and does not clog the fine texture of the concrete.
A uniform gray coat turns a pyramid into a plastic wedge. Try to play the shade out: a lighter mist from above, a darker deposit down at the ground, thin vertical traces of rain and a rusty trickle where reinforcing bar protrudes from the concrete. Lime efflorescence is imitated with a light dry brush in an almost white shade along the edges.
Do not settle the individual pieces into a row like a fence. Sink them to different depths, fill the gaps with earth, leave washed-in silt around the base and tip one piece over. The line then gains a history, not just a shape.
