A photo-etched metal detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale for a model of the German Pz.Kpfw. III tank in the Ausf. M and Ausf. N versions. It adds thin metal exterior parts that give the model a markedly more faithful look.
The Panzer III was part of the backbone of the German armored forces in the first half of the war. The Ausf. M version was a late fighting variant with the 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 gun, while the Ausf. N carried the short 7.5 cm KwK 37 L/24 and filled a support role against infantry and soft targets. Both versions are often built with side armor skirts (Schürzen).
Break the photo-etched parts carefully out of the fret with a sharp blade and dress the edges. Make the bends along the etched score lines using a bending tool or two rules; thicker parts can be briefly annealed to make forming easier. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or two-part epoxy. Lay a primer on the metal before painting, or the paint will not hold well.
