A replacement casting of the gun mantlet from the Hungarian maker SBS Model for a model of the Panther Ausf. A tank in 1:35 scale. The one-piece resin part offers a more accurate shape and finer surface detail than the split molding of an ordinary kit allows, and it is fitted by a simple exchange for the original part.
The Panzerkampfwagen V Panther (Sd.Kfz. 171) was a German medium tank of the Second World War, armed with a long-barreled 75 mm gun. The Ausf. A version carried a massive rounded cast gun mantlet, which is among the most prominent features of the turret front - which is exactly why rendering it faithfully on a model pays off.
Wash the casting in warm soapy water, cut the casting block off carefully and sand the mating surface flat. Check the fit dry and glue the part with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding resin; then even the surface out with a primer coat. If the part does not quite fit after the dry run, always work on the mating surface of the casting rather than on the kit turret; a small gap is reliably filled by a drop of putty.
This is an accessory part - the tank kit is not included in the package.
