This is a complete detail set from the Polish manufacturer Aber, not a model of a vehicle. The package combines fine photo-etched frets with turned metal parts and wire sections and is intended for a model of the German tank destroyer Sd.Kfz. 173 Jagdpanther in the late and final production form. The metal parts replace the grilles, the fenders, the tool brackets, the mounts and other small fittings that plastic cannot deliver at a scale thickness.
The Jagdpanther came about on the chassis of the Panther tank and in a fixed sloped superstructure it carried an 88 mm anti-tank gun with a long barrel. The late and final production series differed from the early vehicles above all in the form of the gun collar, in revisions to the engine deck and the exhausts, and in details simplified for production, which reflected the shortage of raw materials and the pressure to speed up manufacture at the end of the war.
Trim the photo-etched parts off with a sharp knife, bend them on a photo-etch bending tool or along a metal ruler and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer. The large smooth surfaces of the superstructure take color modulation and fine dust weathering well.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
