A resin figure in 1:35 scale depicting a soldier of the Polish Border Guard Corps from the period of September 1939. It is a stand-alone figural casting meant for a diorama or for a display case beside a finished model, not a kit of a piece of equipment. It is supplied unpainted and needs cleaning up and assembly before painting.
The Border Guard Corps was a formation tasked with guarding the frontier, and it had its own settled pattern of uniform and gear, different from ordinary infantry. The figure wears the period field uniform with personal gear: a belt, pouches and headgear. For diorama builders it is an interesting alternative to the usual infantry figures, as it suits scenes at a guardhouse, by a barrier, at a border crossing or on a forest track, settings that can be built on a small footprint without any large equipment.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water, cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. After the primer, build the uniform up from a muted base tone, put a dark wash into the folds and highlight the edges gently with a dry brush. Paint the leather parts of the gear a little more saturated and give them a satin varnish so that they stand apart from the cloth. Paint the face separately before fitting it to the body.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
