A resin set in 1:35 scale depicting a soldier of the Polish Border Guard Corps accompanied by a service dog. It is a figural addition to a diorama, not a kit of a piece of equipment. Both castings are supplied unpainted and need cleaning up and assembly before painting.
The figure wears the period field uniform of the Border Guard Corps with personal gear. A service dog was part of the usual equipment of patrols guarding the frontier, helping both on rounds and in making an arrest. The pairing of a person and a dog is exceptionally rewarding for a diorama: it gives the scene an immediately readable story without any need to build a large setting or any equipment. A stretch of forest track, a barrier or a fence is enough and the scene works.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and cut off the casting blocks; sand resin with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and on the thin leash an accelerator helps, or else a replacement made from thin wire. After the primer, paint the uniform from a muted base with a wash in the folds. Build the dog's coat up from a darker tone through a thin wash to a dry brush on the raised parts; do the eyes and the nose last with a fine brush so that the animal looks alive.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
