An injection-molded plastic kit, Trumpeter Soviet self-propelled gun SU-102 (a prototype), in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet self-propelled gun prototype SU-102 from Trumpeter. The set contains multi-part molded hulls, a metal gun barrel, photo-etched parts and link-and-length tracks. It is an interesting subject, a rare prototype that never reached production. The kit suits more advanced modelers interested in development vehicles.
The SU-102 was a Soviet prototype heavy tank destroyer developed at the end of the Second World War at the design bureau of the Ural engineering works under the designation Uralmash-1. It was based on a modified chassis of the T-44 tank and in a rear fighting casemate it carried a powerful 122 mm gun intended to fight the heaviest enemy tanks. The prototypes were built in 1945, but the vehicle never reached production.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the tracks while they are still easy to reach. The metal barrel gives the model strength and accuracy. For the patina use dark washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear. Because it is a prototype you can also choose a cleaner, trials look without heavy combat patina.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
