Quickwheel 1:35 StuG III A, B, C and Panzer III A, E/F, H is a road wheel masking set cut for the Dragon kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking sheet for painting the road wheels of the early versions of the Panzer III chassis and of the StuG III assault gun derived from it, in 1:35 scale. This is neither a kit nor a replacement part; it is an aid that separates the rubber tire band from the rim. The cutouts are cut for the wheels from the Dragon kits.
The early versions of this chassis carry their road wheels in pairs on a shared bogie, so two discs stand side by side, close together. For masking that means two things. First, the number of wheels suddenly doubles against what you see from the side, because every visible position is made up of two separate parts, and lining them by hand therefore takes twice as long. Second, the wheels have to be masked and painted individually while they are still loose, because once a pair is glued together the inner faces are out of reach and there is no way for a mask to seat there. The practical routine is therefore to paint and unmask every disc in a single batch and only then pair them up and fit them. The inner faces of a pair are essentially invisible, so primer alone will do on them, but the border on the outer faces has to be clean, because those are what the whole view of the running gear is made of. On vehicles with this arrangement the time saved against lining by hand shows up most strongly of all.
Clear the wheels of seams, degrease them, paint the rim, mask once it has dried and spray the tire band in thin coats. Take the mask off while the paint has flashed off.
A painting accessory, not a kit. Paints and thinners are not included in the package.
