A set of photo-etched brass side skirts for the Soviet and Russian T-80U main battle tank in 1:35 scale. It is a detail accessory from Voyager Model that replaces the simplified plastic track covers with thin-walled photo-etched parts. It is not a kit of the tank.
The T-80U is the most advanced version of the Soviet and Russian T-80 main battle tank, powered by a gas turbine. The side skirts protect the running gear and the upper run of the tracks against splinters and shaped-charge hits, and they cut down the dust thrown up while driving.
Carefully separate the photo-etched skirts from the fret, bend the thin sheet slightly if you want a natural sag, and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut away the plastic originals on the model beforehand. Lay down a primer before painting and weather the surfaces with dust and mud effects.
The set does not hold the model itself, glue or paints. It is meant for finishing and bringing out the detail of a kit you have already built.
