A set of self-adhesive painting masks from the maker SX-Art for a model of the Russian KAMAZ Typhoon-K armored car in 1:35 scale. The masks bound the windows and the color fields and make a clean, accurate spraying possible without laborious brushwork by hand.
The KAMAZ Typhoon-K is a Russian wheeled armored car of the MRAP category on a 6x6 chassis, designed with an emphasis on resistance to mines and improvised explosive devices. It serves for carrying troops in a heavily protected cabin and is among modern Russian military equipment.
Transfer the mask onto a degreased, ideally primed surface, press the edges down carefully around the recesses and spray with an airbrush in thin coats. With a multi-color camouflage, proceed from the lighter shades to the darker ones. Once the paint has set, peel the mask off while it is fresh, so that the transitions stay sharp.
The mask holds neither paint nor a model; it is an accessory to a plastic kit.
