A scenic accessory for a diorama in 1:35 scale: German Zeltbahn shelter quarters in a tan shade for the African theater.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zeltbahn was a triangular canvas section that the German soldier carried as a rain cape and that could be buttoned together with others into a tent. It was part of the basic equipment, and so it appears on practically every period photograph: folded on a pack, tied to the fender of a vehicle or thrown over a crate. The tan version matches the equipment of the units deployed in North Africa.
It shows to best effect on vehicles and on stowage. Thrown over a tank turret, clipped to a stowage basket or rolled up on a fender, it reveals that the vehicle is lived in and in the field, and at the same time it breaks up the unbroken expanse of the finish. It is also useful with figures as part of personal equipment or as a shelter in a camp scene.
The canvas is meant to look worn. Let it fold into irregular creases, do not put the corners exactly above one another and feel free to let one edge hang loose. Choose the way of shaping and fixing it and a suitable glue according to the material of the accessory and the manufacturer's instructions. Try out the color adjustment or the dusting on a spare piece before you start on the scene.
The accessory will be used by builders of dioramas and scenes in 1:35 scale focused on German units in Africa, and generally by anyone who wants to add stowage and the crew's personal equipment to their vehicles.
This is a scenic accessory. The vehicle model, figures, a base, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
