This set from GasPatch holds two finely cast resin Vickers K machine guns in 1:35 scale. It is not a standalone model but a detail accessory intended to refine aircraft models, open vehicles and figure scenes. Thanks to resin casting, the parts have a crispness that injection-molded plastic usually cannot match.

The real subject

The Vickers K was a quick-firing machine gun used above all as a flexible aircraft weapon and on light vehicles. It was marked by a high rate of fire and a drum magazine fitted on top, which makes it a striking and easily recognizable element of any scene.

Building and painting tips

First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. For a realistic metal look, a dark metallic paint with gentle drybrushing and light weathering works well.
