The Type 41 was a Japanese naval gun of 152 mm caliber whose barrel had a length corresponding to forty times the caliber. Weapons of this type were used as supplementary artillery armament in casemates and in single-gun mountings on the decks of larger surface ships of the first half of the twentieth century. The description keeps to the technical classification of the weapon, not to a particular deployment.
Injection-molded plastic does not make it possible to produce a thin barrel with a hollow muzzle and crisp edges. The precisely made parts in this set have the correct barrel profile and fine detail of the mounting, so the armament on the model looks more faithful at first glance. Six pieces in the package will cover part of the armament of one ship; with more extensive fits it is advisable to count on several packages.
Cut the original plastic barrels off with a saw or nippers and clean the seat up. Degrease the new parts, fit them dry and only after checking the alignment glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, apply a base intended for metal and resin surfaces. Spray the barrels in thin coats and do any accenting of the shadows only after the base color has dried.
The set is an accessory for a model, not a standalone kit. The model of the ship, glue and paints are not included in the package.
