A set of complete models of the twin mount of the Bofors anti-aircraft gun of 40 mm caliber (L/56 length) in its US pattern, version 2, 1:350 scale, made by MASTER. It holds 6 assemblies built up from resin, photo-etched and turned parts, including the Mk-51 director. These are not just barrels but whole mounted weapons with their crew platform.
The Bofors of 40 mm caliber was the key medium anti-aircraft gun of the Allied navies of the Second World War. In twin and quadruple mounts it formed the backbone of the close-in air defense of American ships; the Mk-51 director was used to aim the whole mount.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks; fold the photo-etched parts along the scored lines; glue the turned barrels and parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The assembly is demanding and meant for experienced modelers. Apply a primer to the parts before painting.
The set serves as a turned replacement for parts of the base kit; on its own it is not a ship model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
