An injection-molded plastic kit of an American nuclear missile submarine in 1:350 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir. The model represents the smooth hull of a Cold War era underwater vessel with the compartment for ballistic missiles aft of the conning tower.
The submarine with the hull number SSBN-640 was one of the American nuclear missile submarines of the Benjamin Franklin class, which was an improved development of the earlier classes of missile submarines. She carried ballistic missiles and was part of the naval component of the nuclear deterrent of the United States during the Cold War. Vessels of this class were among the quietest of their day.
We glue the hull halves with liquid cement for plastic and then sand and clean up the seam. We recommend an undercoat and airbrush spraying in shades of black and dark gray. A fine wash will pick out the panel lines and the hatches, and a flat varnish will even out the surface.
