AGM-45 Shrike 1:48 is a resin accessory from Brengun — an anti-radiation guided missile of an older generation, to be hung under a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The accessory in 1:48 scale captures the AGM-45 Shrike anti-radiation guided missile. It is not a model of an aircraft but armament in its own right, to be hung under a wing or a fuselage. The number of pieces in the package is stated on the box. The manufacturer of the accessory is Brengun. Sets of the same name exist from other brands as well, so go by the stated manufacturer.
The Shrike belongs to the older generation of anti-radiation missiles and came before the later and longer types in the same role. It is therefore markedly shorter and more slender than the later AGM-88, which is clearly evident on a model and suits aircraft of the matching period. It is precisely by the choice of a particular missile that you place a model in time — mixing up generations is one of the most frequent inaccuracies on finished builds.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent and let them dry thoroughly. Cut the casting block off with a saw and true the surface on abrasive paper on glass. The fins are thin and break under rough handling — work with tweezers and put the parts into a dish, not on an open bench. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Spray the base in a thin coat, so that the fine edges are not lost, and only then deal with contrasting bands using masking tape.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
