This is not a kit but an accessory for a model you already have. The set holds pre-cut painting masks shaped to the parts of the kit of the American staff car in 1:48 scale. They are made by the Czech brand Hauler, which specializes in aftermarket accessories for modelers. The target kit is from Tamiya.
Masking small glazing by hand with adhesive tape is the most tedious part of a build in small scales and at the same time the commonest source of mistakes. The knife slips, the edge frays and the paint runs underneath. A pre-cut mask solves both at once: it has the exact shape of the part, it holds by itself and the edge stays sharp even after several coats. The time saved tells above all on vehicles with a large area of glass, where masking by hand would take a whole evening.
First degrease the surface and let it dry completely; a mask will not hold on a greasy or dusty part. Lift the mask out with tweezers and lay one edge down first, and only then press it home, so that no bubbles form. Press the transitions down with a blunt toothpick or a wooden stick. Spray the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat runs underneath sooner than a thin one. Take the mask off while the paint is only tacky, not after it has hardened fully, or you may tear the varnish off with it. With window frames it pays to spray the color of the interior first and only then the outer shade.
