Photo-etched 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm ammunition belts in 1:48 scale from Aber. A general-purpose accessory for American machine guns on vehicles and in dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It holds ammunition belts in two calibers — 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm, that is for American Browning machine guns. A metal belt can be bent and left hanging freely, which looks considerably more natural than a stiff plastic part. It is not a model but a detail accessory.
The 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm Browning machine guns were common armament on Allied tanks, armored personnel carriers and trucks alike. The belt running from the box to the breech of the weapon is a detail that catches the eye at once on a model.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat or with photo-etch scissors, and make the bends in a bending tool or along a steel ruler. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Lay down a base coat suitable for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the etched parts.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
