This accessory set from the Czech maker Hauler holds small ammunition parts in 1:48 scale, tied to the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. J tank. It is not a kit but a detail that completes a model. It comes into its own anywhere you can see into or around the vehicle - in an open hatch, in the hand of a figure, on a fender or in an open box on the ground.
The Ausf. J was the last production version of the Pz.Kpfw. IV medium tank. It carried a long 7.5 cm gun 48 calibers long and, compared with the older variants, it was markedly simplified - it dropped the auxiliary engine for traversing the turret, got mesh side skirts and a number of changes meant to speed up production. The long gun also meant long, slender ammunition with a large cartridge case; scaled down it is an elongated part that is easy to pick out in an open space.
Ammunition is among the details fitted right at the end, after the main painting and the weathering - otherwise you will knock them off while working. Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel or a fine saw over a tray. With resin castings, wash them first in warm water with detergent, then glue with super glue. Do the painting away from the model: the case in a brass metallic (the pigment settles to the bottom, so stir it), the projectile in a darker matte color, and bring out the seam between them with a dark wash. Dust or greasy fingerprints on the ammunition bring a scene to life better than perfectly clean metal.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
