This is a set of photo-etched parts in brass meant for detailing the bomb bay area of the four-engine bomber Consolidated B-24 Liberator in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory that replaces or fills out the plastic parts with finer metal ones.
The set brings fine photo-etched parts for the bomb bay area of the Consolidated B-24 Liberator model in 1:48 scale - above all wall bracing, bomb racks and the detail of the roller doors of the bomb bay and other structural elements that a plastic casting cannot render faithfully. The result is a more realistic view into an open bomb bay.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War. It was marked by its long range, the load-bearing Davis wing and a roomy bomb bay with roller doors. It was put into action on a mass scale in Europe and in the Pacific, in strategic bombing and in patrols over the sea.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife or with photo-etch shears, make the bends along the engraved lines, ideally in a bending tool, and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy. Degrease the surface before painting; photo-etched parts hold paint better once a base primer has been sprayed on.
This is a separate set of photo-etched parts, an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
