USMC Sand FS 33711 - an AK interactive acrylic paint

A water-thinnable acrylic paint in a bottle for aircraft models. The FS number in the name is the designation of the shade according to the American standard, thanks to which you can reliably pair the paint with instructions and with products of other brands that have named the same shade in their own way. In the range, the sand color is the natural counterpart of the green shades of the United States Marine Corps, with which it is combined in schemes.

Use

• Light sand tones behave best over a light surface. If you are building over a dark primer or dark plastic, reckon with building the coats up gradually and do not try to cover the area in one pass.
• A completely white surface, on the other hand, flattens the shade. The happy medium is a light gray primer, over which the sand stays legible but not washed out.
• A sand coat is the base for dust: only after sealing with a clear coat, sprinkle and spread the pigments from the lower surfaces upward, so that the lighter deposits stay where the air will not blow them off.
• The shade is rewarding to modulate. A drop of white in the same paint is enough to brighten the centers of the panels, and the darker tone can be left along the seams.

Who the paint is for

For builders of American aircraft who work with shades according to the FS standard and want them precisely defined. The paint is an acrylic thinnable with water or with an acrylic thinner, not a lacquer. The manufacturer has the same shade with the same standard number in the lacquer range as well, but that one is thinned differently and the two ranges are not mixed.

Shake thoroughly before use. Spray in a ventilated space and with respiratory protection, and do not inhale the pigments for weathering. Keep closed and out of the reach of children.
