Xtradecal 1:48 BAC TSR-2 What If, the third part is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale with fictional markings for the British TSR-2 strike aircraft, which never reached squadron service.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from the British manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. The designation What If means that the sheet offers fictional markings: it shows how the TSR-2 might have looked had it reached squadron service. The third part follows on from the earlier sheets of the same series and extends them rather than replacing them. The name does not give the individual schemes, so go by what the manufacturer gives on the packaging of the sheet and the instructions.
The BAC TSR-2 was a British twin-engined tactical strike and reconnaissance aircraft with a high-mounted delta wing, designed for fast flight at low level. The prototype first flew in 1964, but the program was canceled the following year and only a single machine got into the air. That is precisely why the TSR-2 is a rewarding subject for what-if modeling, which fills in what never happened.
Fictional schemes tend to be built on large areas of color and on bands, and a large-area decal behaves differently from a small marking. Always put plenty of water under the film so that it slides over the surface and does not grip before you have set it. Work from the center toward the edges: press the surplus water and air outward with a soft brush or a damp cotton swab. A large area is better settled all at once than corrected in sections, because once the film has dried creased, it can no longer be straightened.
This is a modeling accessory, a decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
