1:48 Boeing CH-47A Chinook TFace is an Eduard masking set in the TFace form, that is for covering the glazing from the inside as well as the outside. Intended for a model of the transport helicopter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The TFace designation means that the sheet holds masks for both sides of the glazing: the outer frames and the ones that stay visible from inside. On a Chinook that plays a bigger part than on a fighter — you can see right through the cabin and the cargo compartment, so an unpainted frame on the inner side gives a model away at first glance. It is not a kit and not a glued part, but an aid for spraying.
The CH-47A is the first production form of the Chinook transport helicopter. The lifting rotors are arranged in tandem and there is no tail rotor. The glazing is extensive: front panels, side windows of the crew cabin, windows under the pilots' feet and a row of windows along the cargo compartment. The inner sides of the frames are clearly apparent on a model with the rear or the side doors open, which is the main reason the TFace form makes sense on this type.
Degrease the glazing and let it dry. Stick the inner masks on first and only then the outer ones — on a part that has not yet been set into the fuselage, the inner side is far easier to work with. Lift the masks off with tweezers and press them down with a toothpick, so that no air is left under the edge. Spray in thin coats. Fill the space with cotton wool before spraying. Take the masks off while the paint is freshly dry.
The set holds masking material only. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
