A decal sheet from the Hungarian manufacturer HAD models in 1:48 scale for a model of the Ilyushin Il-10 ground attack aircraft in its late pattern. According to the name it belongs to a set of six camouflage schemes and is marked as the first part, to which the manufacturer has also issued a second part. The sheet is intended for a finished, sprayed model.
Dividing a larger decal set into two parts is usual, as one sheet would not hold all the schemes and the technical lettering as well. Before building it is therefore worth going through the enclosed drawing to find which items you need for the scheme you have chosen and whether they are on this sheet or in its second part.
The Ilyushin Il-10 is a single-engine two-seat ground attack aircraft which followed on from the earlier Il-2. Against its predecessor it had an all-metal structure, aerodynamically cleaner lines and better flying qualities while keeping the armor protection of the crew and the engine. The type was used long after 1945 and was also built under license outside its country of origin.
Varnish the model with gloss clear coat so that no air is trapped under the film. Cut the decal out, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and slide it into place once it releases. Fine-tune the position with a damp brush and soak the surplus water up. At engraved lines and rivets use a softener, which draws the film into the hollows. Once dry, spray the model with a matte or satin varnish.
