1:48 F-86 E/F Sabre (Black) is a finished color photo-etched instrument panel in a black form for a model of the North American F-86 Sabre jet fighter in 1:48 scale from Yahu Models.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit or a whole photo-etched cockpit set. The package contains one finished part: the instrument panel for the F-86 Sabre jet fighter in the E and F versions in 1:48 scale. The panel is etched from thin sheet and printed in color at the factory, including the dials and labels. The designation in the name distinguishes it as the black variant of the panel, which Yahu Models offers alongside other forms for this type.
The F-86 Sabre was a single-engine jet fighter with a swept wing which entered service at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. The E version brought changes to the control of the tailplane, the F version a more powerful powerplant and later changes to the leading edge of the wing. The cockpit was similar in both forms and the instrument panel in it fills the whole front wall. In 1:48 scale it is among the easily visible elements, especially when the model is built with the canopy open.
Remove the original plastic panel, or sand it down to the thickness at which the etched part seats at the right depth. The Sabre has a fairly deep instrument panel, so it pays to test the fit dry before gluing the fuselage together. Separate the part from the fret with a cutter and level the edges with a file. Glue it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin. The printing is not oversprayed. You get the effect of glazed instruments with a spot of gloss varnish or clear-part glue.
This is an accessory, not an aircraft model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
