A resin standing figure of a German airman of the Second World War in 1:48 scale from the Aerobonus brand (the Aires line). It is a universal figure to finish by brush and set into a scene, which can be placed beside most German aircraft of that time; it is not a model of an airplane in its own right.
The figure represents a Luftwaffe fighter or bomber pilot of the years 1939 to 1945. It captures the typical period gear: a flying helmet or a side cap, a flying suit, a life vest and a parachute harness. Thanks to its more casual standing posture it suits a scene beside an aircraft, the ground crew at an airfield and the enlivening of a display case of Luftwaffe machines alike.
These are resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash the mold release agent off them, separate them from the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting, lay the colors on in thin layers and bring the details out with a wash. The head and the arms tend to be separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
