An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet fighter-bomber Su-17M4 Fitter-K in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The model represents the single-engine machine with a variable-geometry wing in which only the outer wing panels pivot. The box holds injection-molded plastic sprues, the canopy glazing and a decal sheet; the exact contents and the number of options follow the particular boxing.
The Su-17 Fitter is a Soviet fighter-bomber from the Sukhoi design bureau, developed from the Su-7. Its essential novelty was the variable-geometry wing: only the outer panels pivot, which gave the machines a shorter takeoff and landing, better handling and a greater load. The Su-17M4 is the last production version, with markedly upgraded avionics (inertial navigation, a laser rangefinder, a radar warning receiver) and the AL-21F-3 engine.
Glue the plastic with liquid cement for plastic and give attention to the mechanism of the pivoting outer wing panels: decide whether you want to fix them spread or swept. Finish the cockpit interior and fit the seat before closing the fuselage; fit the glazing after painting and protect it with masks. We recommend a primer, an airbrush and accenting of the panel lines. Fit the external stores and the pylons at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
