The set contains photo-etched engine compartment grilles for a model of the German Sd.Kfz. 171 Panther medium tank, late Ausf.G version, in 1:48 scale. It is not a tank kit but an accessory. Thin brass grilles replace the plastic parts and faithfully imitate the ventilation and cooling vents at the rear. The manufacturer is the Polish brand Aber.
The Panther Ausf.G was the final production version of the German Panther medium tank. It carried a 75 mm gun with a long barrel and was marked by a good combination of armor, firepower and mobility. The late variants had a number of small design changes. The engine grilles are among the details most exposed to the eye, and an etched version refines them markedly.
Remove the plastic grilles from the model or fit the etched parts in their place. Shape the parts lightly and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray the metal with a primer before painting. A darker background showing through the mesh heightens the sense of depth.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The tank model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
