This is an accessory set of engine exhaust nozzles, not a model of an aircraft. The set from the manufacturer Reskit holds resin, or else 3D printed, nozzles for the carrier fighter Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale, in two configurations: open (spread) and closed (drawn in). The modeler chooses the matching state of the nozzles according to the situation being shown.
The F-14 Tomcat was an American two-seat carrier fighter with variable wing geometry, in service with the US Navy. The F-14A version was the first production variant. The exhaust nozzles of both engines changed their diameter according to the engine setting, which is why they differ between a parked and a flying machine; the set captures both positions faithfully.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks, then glue them with super glue. Paint the interior and the petals of the nozzles in metallic and heat-tinted shades, bring them out with a dark wash and a fine dry brush.
An accessory set. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
