The LööKplus package from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings together resin accessories for one particular model: a set from the LööK line with a pre-colored interior part and, on top of that, further resin parts. According to its name this variant is equipped with late-type wheels, which is a significant difference: on the Tomcat the use of various hubs and tires changed during service, and the modeler has to choose according to the machine being built. A variant with early-type wheels exists alongside it, so check which of them you need. This is not a kit; you will find the exact make-up of the package on the packaging.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American twin-engine two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Sweeping the wing back adapted it to high speeds, while in the spread position it allowed the low landing speed needed for operation from the deck of an aircraft carrier. The F-14A version was the first production variant. The rugged landing gear and the massive nose leg are among the typical recognition features, which show to good effect on a model.
Wash the resin wheels and cut off the casting block so that the contact patch stays flat, otherwise the model stands crooked on its landing gear. Carrier machines usually have markedly dirty landing gear, so it pays to dust the wheels lightly with pigment after painting. Glue the pre-colored panel only onto a perfectly dry base and protect the print from sanding. Join all the resin parts with super glue and prime them before painting.
