A dark gray shade from the Mr.Paint range made for the radio antenna covers of the Su-27 and MiG-29 aircraft. A 30 ml bottle, ready to be sprayed with an airbrush.
Responsibility details are not available.
On the real aircraft the radio antenna covers differ in color from the skin around them, because they are made of a different material from aluminum sheet and carry a different finish. On a model they are small but conspicuous areas that break up uniform camouflage and add a great deal of credibility. The manufacturer lists this dark gray shade precisely for the antenna covers of the Su-27 and MiG-29.
The paint is thinned ready for spraying and with a nozzle of 0.3 mm diameter it needs no further thinning; for finer nozzles the MRP-T thinner of the same range serves. It is sprayed over a base color at a pressure of roughly 10 to 25 psi. Drying is quick and the coverage good, so two thin layers are enough on a small area. The range is meant for an airbrush, not for brush application.
Small areas are best done after the main camouflage: mask the surroundings with masking tape or masking fluid, press the edge of the tape down and only then spray, or the paint will creep under. Take the mask off while the paint is freshly dry, not after it has fully cured. The shade also works well on small antennas and sensors, where it is enough to bring out the shape without a contrasting line. If the outline of the cover is engraved on the model, run the edge of the mask exactly along it; the transition will then stay crisp and the shape legible. Stir the paint in the bottle before every use, because the pigment settles at the bottom.
The package holds one bottle of paint of 30 ml. Thinner, masking material, varnishes and the model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
