Aber 1:35 German ammunition for the sFH 18 and the Hummel is a set of turned metal ammunition from the Polish maker Aber for models of the 150 mm heavy howitzer and of the Hummel self-propelled gun in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of turned metal ammunition in 1:35 scale, not a standalone model. It holds shells and cartridge cases for the 150 mm sFH 18 heavy field howitzer, the same weapon carried by the chassis of the Hummel self-propelled gun. The turned projectiles have an exact circular cross section, crisp driving bands and fine fuze detail, so they stand up to a close look inside the open fighting compartment of a model.
The 150 mm sFH 18 heavy field howitzer was the standard German artillery weapon of its category in the Second World War. In a modified form the same weapon was mounted in the open superstructure of the Hummel self-propelled gun, built on a chassis derived from the medium tanks. It is on the Hummel that the ammunition is clearly visible, because it was both carried and stacked right in the fighting compartment.
Wash and degrease the metal parts, otherwise the paint will not hold. You can leave the brass cartridge cases bare, or just polish and tone them, while the shells are better painted over a primer. The difference in materials — the metal of the case and the painted projectile — will add realism to the scene. Glue ammunition stowed in the gun compartment with cyanoacrylate glue and weather it with a dark wash and fine pigments.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
