A sheet of markings and technical stencils for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk.V fighter of the first production series in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest Mk.V was a British fighter of the closing stage of the Second World War, powered by the Napier Sabre H-24 engine. It was a heavy, fast machine with a thick fuselage and a thin wing, used over Western Europe. The reference to the first series points to the early production form of the type.
A sheet for a model of the Tempest Mk.V in 1:48 scale that carries both the markings of the machine and small technical stencils. The markings consist of national insignia and code letters, while the stencils are the small legends spread over the airframe: crew instructions, warnings by the filler points and data by the access panels. It is exactly these small things that give a finished model its scale, because the eye judges the size of the whole machine by them.
With sheets of this kind the usual approach is the wet one: cut the element out, put it in lukewarm water for a few tens of seconds, slide it off the paper into place once it has released and blot the surplus water away. The surface should be smooth and glossy, or matte edges will show around the element. Before you soak the sheet, however, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive type: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined, whereas a sheet that has not been soaked can still be soaked later.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
