A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer OWL, devoted to one particular Heinkel He 219 aircraft of the A-0 series which carried the fuselage code given in the name. The sheet therefore does not serve as a universal set of markings but for the reconstruction of a certain machine.
The He 219 was a twin-engine night fighter aircraft with a crew of two, nose landing gear and a high-set cockpit. The A-0 series was the first more numerous batch with which the type got into service, and the individual machines differed in their equipment. A model in 1:48 scale has a large fuselage with extensive smooth areas, where there is plenty of room for decals.
Night fighter finishes tend to be light, with fine mottling on which a badly settled decal is easily spotted. Polish the surface with gloss varnish, therefore, and cut the markings out close to the printing. Settle the fuselage codes on a damp area with a brush and use the softener only once the position has been trued up. Once it has dried, unify the surface with matte varnish and only then work with panel washes.
This is not a kit but a decal sheet. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
