An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat jet aircraft HESA Saeqeh-80 in 1:48 scale from the Taiwanese manufacturer AFV Club. The kit is based on an earlier mold of a machine of the F-5 family and adds newly designed parts that set this version apart, above all the twin canted vertical tails and a reworked ejection seat. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Saeqeh is an Iranian single-seat jet aircraft derived from the American Northrop F-5. It came about in the domestic aircraft industry as the outcome of long-term maintenance and modification of older machines of this family. The most conspicuous difference from the original type is the two canted vertical tails in place of a single vertical tail, which make the silhouette of the aircraft easy to recognize. Otherwise the machine keeps the basic layout of a light supersonic aircraft with short trapezoidal wings, side air intakes and two engines. It is used in the role of a light combat and training aircraft.
Finish and paint the cockpit and the seat before you glue the fuselage halves together. Fit the clear parts only after spraying and mask them with tape or with masking fluid. Go over the joints of the fuselage and the wing roots with putty and sand them down with fine paper, as otherwise they will stand out under a uniform camouflage. Spray a gloss clear coat under the decals and go over it with a matte one once it has dried. At the end a fine accentuation of the engraved panel lines is worthwhile, especially on the large surfaces of the wings and the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
