It represents the Mitsubishi F-15J Eagle fighter of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) in the ceremonial special markings of a machine of the 305th Squadron from Hyakuri Air Base in 2012. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet for the special scheme.
The F-15J is the Japanese license-built version of the American twin-engine F-15 Eagle air superiority fighter, produced by Mitsubishi. In JASDF service it fills the air defense role. Japanese squadrons apply special color schemes to individual machines for anniversaries and ceremonial occasions, which makes them an attractive modeling subject.
Work the seams of the fuselage and the engine nacelles carefully. The special scheme calls for a clean base and for applying the decals over a gloss clear coat so that no silvering appears. Finish the cockpit and the external stores according to references. An airbrush helps with the subtle transitions of the basic gray camouflage as well as of the color scheme.
