A vacuum-formed clear canopy for the La-5 (late production) in 1:48 scale is replacement glazing for plastic models of the Soviet fighter Lavochkin La-5. The accessory is aimed at the Zvezda kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a model on its own. The package contains one vacuum-formed (vacuform) clear canopy part matching the late production series of the Soviet fighter Lavochkin La-5 in 1:48 scale. The thin-walled glazing is clearer and finer than the injection-molded part from the base kit and looks especially good on a build with the canopy open. The accessory is fitted to the Zvezda kit, which is not in the package.
The Lavochkin La-5 was a Soviet single-seat fighter with a radial engine which became one of the key types of the Eastern Front in the Second World War. The later production version differed among other things in the modification of the rear fuselage and the canopy for a better view to the rear, which is worth emphasizing on a model with faithful glazing.
Carefully cut the part out along its outline and sand it down to an exact edge. It is glued with a clear canopy glue or in spots with cyanoacrylate glue away from the clear areas. Mask the frames with tape and spray them with an airbrush. Wash the part before painting and do not touch the clear areas with your fingers.
The set does not contain the aircraft model itself, paints or glue; it is a separate glazing accessory (1 piece).
