A photo-etched accessory set in 1:48 scale for a model of the Lockheed F-104S Starfighter fighter. Thin metal parts replace the places where plastic would be too thick.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-104S was the Italian form of the Starfighter, built under license and adapted to carry medium-range guided missiles; it therefore also received a matching radar. Against the earlier versions it differed in armament and equipment, and in upgraded forms it served exceptionally long, until the start of the 21st century. Besides the Aeronautica Militare, the Turkish Air Force also operated this version. The Starfighter is recognizable at first glance by its slender fuselage and very short, thin wing with sharp leading edges.
A photo-etched fret with parts in 1:48 scale. The individual elements are joined to the fret by thin tabs, which are cut through before gluing. The extent of the set and the kit it is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Leave the finest elements in the fret as long as possible and release them only when their turn comes during the build.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and level the remains of the tabs with a fine file. Make the folds along the marked score lines, ideally in a photo-etch bender. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in a minute amount, applied with a pin or a wire. Degrease the metal before painting and lay a base color under it, otherwise the shade will not hold on the smooth surface.
The set is intended for modelers who want to raise the level of detail on a Starfighter model beyond that of an injection-molded kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
