Luftwaffe parachutes of the Second World War in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a cockpit, for crew figures or for a scene beside an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The parachute belonged to the equipment of every flying crew, and on many German machines it served as the seat cushion at the same time: the pilot sat on it and the seat was shaped for exactly that. An empty seat pan therefore looks incomplete on a finished model, and it is one of the first places that even a non-modeler notices in an open cockpit.
The set brings a model in 1:48 scale parachutes with a crisply rendered fabric surface and with the harness. You can place them in the seat of a fighter, beside a figure of a waiting crew, or set them down next to the machine on the area, where they serve well as a small element of the scene. The material is not polystyrene; the parts are glued with cyanoacrylate glue.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder so that the seating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease before painting. Paint the fabric of the parachute with a muted base and bring out the texture with a thin glaze into the folds; set the harness straps apart in shade, otherwise they will merge with the fabric on a small part. The metal buckles are best suggested with the tip of a brush right at the very end. Choose the shades from period photographs and according to the machine you are building the parachute for.
The accessory will be appreciated by modelers of German aircraft of the Second World War in 1:48 scale who are building a model with an open cockpit or putting together a scene with a crew.
The aircraft model, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
