ATOM COLOR IJN Mitsubishi Green is a modeling paint from the Spanish brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez, from the ATOM range. A green shade named after the aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy from Mitsubishi production.
Responsibility details are not available.
The shade is named literally ATOM COLOR IJN Mitsubishi Green. The abbreviation IJN stands for the Imperial Japanese Navy, and Mitsubishi was one of its main suppliers of aircraft: among others, the A6M carrier fighter came out of its shops. The name is therefore a clear pointer to where the shade belongs: on Japanese naval aircraft of the Second World War. The manufacturer moreover keeps the greens named after Mitsubishi and after Nakajima separate, which matches the practice of the day, when the shades from the two factories differed from one another.
The paint is aimed above all at modelers of Japanese aviation who want to tell machines from different factories apart and are not content with a single all-purpose green. It will also serve anyone looking for a muted dark green for other subjects. If you are building an aircraft from Nakajima production, reach for the shade that has Nakajima in its name; that is exactly why the manufacturer keeps them separate.
Stir the paint well before work: the pigment settles at the bottom after standing for a while, and unstirred paint gives a different tone. Work in thin coats and apply the next one only over a dry one; a single thick coat floods the detail. A test coat on a piece of sprue will show you how the shade looks once dry. The instructions for application and drying are on the packaging from the manufacturer, so follow them. Ventilate the room and store the paint out of the reach of children.
