A set of masking films, 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10/K-4, from HGW. It is not a model of an aircraft but precisely shaped self-adhesive masks for easy and clean spraying of the canopy frames and other glazed panels of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10/K-4 in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of self-adhesive masking films, not a standalone model. The HGW masks are precisely cut from fine Japanese paper tape (kabuki) and serve to mask the glazed surfaces when spraying the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10/K-4 fighter in 1:48 scale. They make it possible to spray the canopy frames and other glazed panels sharply and without paint bleeding under the edge. The masks are designed for the shape of the matching kit in this scale and are not meant for the model itself.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 and Bf 109K-4 were the late, performance-refined versions of the fighter at the end of the Second World War. They received aerodynamically cleaner cowlings, a taller vertical tail and more powerful engines. They were deployed in the last months of the war in an attempt to keep pace with Allied fighters.
Lift the parts carefully off the sheet, transfer them to a cleaned and degreased glazed panel and press the edges down carefully, so that the paint does not bleed under. The masks follow the framing of the canopy, so the tedious cutting of tape falls away. For thin areas use thin coats of paint and take the mask off while the spray is still freshly dry. The remaining parts of the sheet can be used to cover the surrounding areas before overspraying.
This is an accessory for masking; the kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
